Great tapas styled Indian dishes. The taste hit the sweet spot with the right amount of spice. Friendly staff and good overall ambience. Unusually and interestingly, they dont serve bread at all. The alternative accompaniment is rice.

The original Gunpowder restaurant has bib gourmand, and with good reason. Beautiful interior, excellent food and great service. You have the option to choose small plates that allow you to taste many dishes. In my opinion that is the way it always should be.

Spectacular experience considering I went in off the cuff on a random Wednesday in January. I have studied the menu previously but due to the 10 year anniversary, the menu was the first they sold which was very cool and nostalgic. Ambience was perfect, low level music and extremely clean and inviting seating. The maitre d was a very warming and welcoming gentleman and talked me through the menu, the history and particular dishes I had no prior knowledge on. Each dish was superbly made and displayed, I had the following- Venison doughnut- what a flavour bomb! Lamb chop- delicious and would recommend 2 each Tandoori Saag paneer- was soft and the spinach sauce was creamy and complimented it so well. Lamb shank with mash- again meat was falling off the bone and was juicy and a great portion for 1. The show stopper was the rum pudding- sensational! I would recommend this as in my top 5 London restaurant experiences and my top for 2026 ;)

Excellent Indian Restaurant. Spich Vsnison & Vermicelli Doughnut and Bengali Beetroot Croquettes are perfect starters. You should try Tandoori Lamb Chops as the main. Live piano.music was wonderful too. It was an amazing experience. One more suggestion to owners to get the 6th star as well...!! Please get a portable bidet for the closets to get appreciated by the people that attach importance to hygiene instead of putting a Highland Spring water bottle instead...!!!!

This is my first time ever having Indian food and wanted to say I was blown away! The menu had so many unique dishes and they recommend you doing the sharing style, which is exactly the way to go. My favorite dish was by far the chicken but all of the other dishes were amazing. The atmosphere is a little dark so keep that in mind, but you loved the live piano. The beans were another staple. I would highly recommend getting a reservation as this restaurant was fully booked on a Saturday night. You ate here as a pre-show dinner before Paddington and it was great.

Really good food. Enjoyed everything a lot. Went at 4:45 and they had a good pre theatre menu for £22 which was a good deal. Beef skewer and artichoke were my favourite dishes

The food is delicious, not your typical Indian, more like Indian tapas or dim sum, small plates or nibbles for sharing. Note that they don't have any curries or naans. All of the dishes are very creative, nicely presented, and more importantly, delicious. A bit pricey though. Recommend the Rasam ke bomb, egg curry masala, mustard malai broccoli and mixed grill platter. Perhaps give the braised pork ribs a miss.
